Job Overview

The role of Assistant Director, Procurement, EL1, Corporate - Finance involves supervising a small team of procurement professionals to achieve high-quality procurement and contract management results.

This position requires providing expert advice and assurance on procurement processes including the development and review of procurement plans, request for tender documentation, panel arrangements, evaluations, negotiations, probity matters, contracts, and stakeholder engagement.

Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the development and continuous improvement of procurement policies and processes in consultation with key stakeholders.

As part of this team, you will participate in formal procurement and contract management forums and committees such as the Centre of Procurement Excellence.

About You
  • Demonstrated experience and strong understanding of Commonwealth Government procurement framework, including procurement rules and policies.
  • Proven track record of end-to-end procurement, reviewing and advising on procurement plans, approval minutes, contracts, and evaluation reports.
  • Leadership experience in leading, mentoring, and developing teams across multiple priorities to achieve results within a high-performance environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to effectively manage competing priorities and strategic directions.
