Senior Mechanical Engineer Role Overview

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Quantum Sensing division. In this role, you'll design and develop mechanical parts for our sensors, including laser systems, ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems, and structural components.

As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate with physicists, engineers, and stakeholders to advance scientific knowledge and ensure the robust performance of our technology in the field.

Responsibilities include owning the design, development, integration, and support of our quantum sensors, working on critical quantum sensing field trials with industry partners, and applying industry standards when necessary.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the design, development, integration, and support of our quantum sensors.
  • Work with physicists, engineers, and stakeholders to design high-precision measurement systems.
  • Be part of the team responsible for integration, test, and validation of newly commissioned sensors.
  • Work on critical quantum sensing field trials with key industry partners.
  • Understand and apply industry standards when needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering.
  • Track record of delivering high-precision prototype mechanical designs.
  • Demonstrated experience designing with Inventor or similar CAD software.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an R&D environment with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with ultra-high vacuum (UHV).
  • Experience with mechanical design for optical systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise with FEA for structural/modal analysis.
