About the Role:

Mercer is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Management Office Lead to join our team in Melbourne or Sydney. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving the execution of a large multi-year Business Risk Transformation program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee program standards, tools, processes, and quality control for remediation plan design and delivery.
  • Orchestrate prioritization of Hub resources to support program and stream delivery.
  • Develop and implement program governance standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and effective program management practices.
  • Collaborate with program stakeholders to develop comprehensive program plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and optimize allocation of program resources, including budget, personnel, and technology, to support program delivery.
  • Develop, manage, and own 3 work packages as part of Remediation Plan deliverables; Program Charter, Resourcing, and Project Assurance Framework.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders, project teams, and external partners, to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and support for the program.
  • Proactive engagement and respond to needs of Program Director and Executive stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues, proactively addressing challenges and ensuring timely resolution to minimize impact on program outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, preferably within financial services.
  • Experience in Regulatory Remediation Plans (preferable).
  • Experience in program management, with a focus on PMO leadership, preferably in a complex and dynamic organizational environment. Experience in leading large-scale transformation programs is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in establishing and leading PMOs, with a deep understanding of program management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Demonstrated stakeholder management capabilities.
