About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Workplace and Industrial Relations Manager to join our team at Beilby Downing Teal. As a key member of our HR department, you will provide industrial relations advice, guidance, and support to the broader business, leading the design and delivery of workplace relations strategy, frameworks, policies, processes, reporting, and education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of ER/IR issues, consulting on key policy and employment legislation issues, including EA/EBA negotiations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with unions, Fair Work Australia, and legal counsel.
  • Work closely with HR leadership and the broader business to develop and communicate policies, ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • Conduct regular policy reviews to ensure alignment with labour legislation and address legal issues.
  • Lead negotiations with unions to establish and renew agreements, fostering positive relationships.
  • Design and deliver training programs on performance coaching, conflict resolution, and fostering an inclusive work culture.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 8 years' experience in a role dedicated to providing subject matter expertise in workplace and industrial relations. You will have demonstrated experience with enterprise bargaining, including leading the end-to-end union negotiation and implementation of enterprise agreements. You will also have experience with complex case management across a wide range of workplace relations matters, including the management and resolution of employment disputes and claims, as well as advocacy before the Fair Work Commission and other industrial tribunals.

You will be an exceptional communicator who is able to seamlessly integrate from blue-collar to professional level and with a proven ability to influence and contribute tactically and strategically. You will have excellent verbal and written communication, influencing and coaching, and problem-solving skills. You will also have highly developed ability to collaborate and build strong stakeholder relationships and promote high levels of accountability.
