About the Role

The Workplace and Industrial Relations Manager will provide strategic guidance and support to the business on industrial relations matters, including enterprise bargaining, union engagement, and employment law compliance. This role will also lead the design and delivery of workplace relations strategies, frameworks, and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage ER/IR issues, consulting on key policy and employment legislation issues, including EA/EBA negotiations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with unions, Fair Work Australia, and legal counsel.
  • Work closely with HR leadership and the business to develop and communicate policies, ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • Conduct regular policy reviews to ensure alignment with labor legislation and address legal issues.
  • Lead negotiations with unions to establish and renew agreements, fostering positive relationships.
  • Design and deliver training programs on performance coaching, conflict resolution, and fostering an inclusive work culture.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 8 years' experience in a role dedicated to providing subject matter expertise in workplace and industrial relations. You will also have demonstrated experience with enterprise bargaining, including leading the end-to-end union negotiation and implementation of enterprise agreements.

You will be an exceptional communicator who can seamlessly integrate from blue-collar to professional level and with a proven ability to influence and contribute tactically and strategically. You will also have experience with complex case management across a wide range of workplace relations matters, including the management and resolution of employment disputes and claims, as well as advocacy before the Fair Work Commission and other industrial tribunals.
