About the Role

This is a 12 month fixed term federal government contract based in Canberra.

Clinicians will provide high-quality mental health and wellbeing support to current and former Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel, veterans, and their families.

This is a secure 12-month contract with no shorter-term options available.

As a Clinician, you will:

  • Deliver evidence-based assessment, counselling (individual, couple, family), risk intervention, and case management.
  • Provide trauma-informed, client-centred care to eligible clients.
  • Liaise with families, treatment providers, and stakeholders to ensure coordinated support.
  • Contribute to group programs, community education, and service promotion.
  • Maintain professional registration and engage in ongoing supervision and CPD.
About You

We are looking for professionals who possess:

  • Qualifications - Registered Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Accredited Social Worker (AASW), or a Counsellor (Requires Masters-level counselling qualification and registration with PACFA as a Registered Clinical Counsellor or with ACA at Level 3 or Level 4)
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in mental health and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience supporting DVA clients or a strong personal/professional connection to the ADF/DVA community.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex client needs.
  • Excellent IT and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to work rostered shifts 24/7 - full time and part time hours available
Requirements
  • A 12-month contract is required.
  • Applicants must have 3+ years of experience working in similar roles, with DVA experience required.
  • AHPRA or AASW registration is essential.
  • The successful candidate will receive an attractive salary, including casual loading and superannuation.
  • Funded supervision and ongoing professional development will be provided.
  • This role offers a stable and structured 12-month engagement, making a tangible difference to the wellbeing of veterans and their families.
