System Engineer Role

This position involves the design and development of systems that cater to client needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Eliciting and analyzing functional, non-functional, and security requirements
  • Capturing and validating customer priorities and acceptance criteria
  • Organizing and prioritizing requirements using roadmaps, epics, user stories, and backlogs
  • Specifying and validating requirements to support effective development and operations
  • Maintaining SDTE Operational Concept Document and Functional Performance Specifications
  • Designing system components using modelling techniques aligned with architecture standards
  • Creating and maintaining strategic roadmaps, including cloud migration plans
  • Collaborating with Solution Architects and Designers to align architecture roadmaps
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong background in IT architecture or systems engineering on medium to large projects
  • Experience in DevSecOps development
  • High-level and detailed design creation
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g. ISM, PSPF, ASD Essential 8)
  • Strong communication skills to bridge business and technical language
  • Experience authoring/reviewing architecture artefacts
  • Exposure to cyber operations (defensive/offensive)
  • Experience with VMWare, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, CI/CD pipelines
Qualification Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in large, complex environments as a system architect, developer, or engineer
  • Certified SAFe Practitioner (can be completed upon engagement)
  • Certification as a Systems Engineering Professional CSEP (INCOSE), TOGAF 9, DODAF v2+, or SABSA Practitioner certifications
