  • Must be Australian Citizen with minimum of Baseline Clearance

The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for defining the strategic technical roadmap for a Commonwealth Agency's SAP landscape, leveraging the SAP RISE program. Reporting directly to the Chief Architect, this role will lead the architectural design and planning for a brownfield conversion from the existing SAP ECC to SAP S/4 HANA. The architect will ensure the proposed solution aligns with the Chief Architect's vision, utilising the SAP RISE framework for a single, managed service contract, while preserving and upgrading the functionality of current solutions, including the HR functions managed by SAP SuccessFactors and Aurion, as well as Expense8.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive technical and business roadmap for the direct upgrade and uplift from SAP ECC to SAP S/4 HANA via the SAP RISE framework.
  • Lead the architectural design for the in-place conversion, ensuring the proposed solution aligns with enterprise architecture principles and the 'clean core' approach promoted by SAP RISE.
  • Provide expert guidance on the components of the SAP RISE bundle, including SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Business Process Intelligence, and the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), to inform the transformation strategy.
  • Define and design the integration strategy between the new SAP S/4 HANA landscape and the agency's dual-HR systems, SAP SuccessFactors and Aurion, ensuring a seamless flow of data and functional continuity.
  • Assess the impact of the S/4 HANA upgrade on existing ECC-based solutions, such as Expense8 and the dual-HR systems, and ensure a seamless functional transition as part of the managed service.
  • Guide the technical team on custom code remediation and moving extensions to SAP BTP to maintain a clean core, in line with the SAP RISE methodology.
  • Produce high-quality architectural documentation, including solution designs, technical specifications, and a detailed roadmap.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Australian Government security clearance (BASELINE or higher) is mandatory.
  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect with a focus on large-scale SAP transformations.
  • Direct, demonstrable experience with the SAP RISE program, particularly for SAP ECC to S/4 HANA brownfield conversions.
  • Deep knowledge of SAP product suites, specifically SAP S/4 HANA, SAP ECC, and SAP HANA.
  • Essential experience in integrating SAP S/4 HANA with external or co-existing HR systems, specifically with SAP SuccessFactors and/or Aurion.
  • Strong understanding of the SAP RISE offering, including its bundled services, managed cloud services, and the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Experience with cloud hosting models, particularly SAP Sovereign Cloud and AWS, and an understanding of the migration to a managed service provider.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Previous experience working in the public sector or with government agencies is highly regarded.
Qualifications
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Recognised enterprise architecture certification (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
  • SAP S/4 HANA and/or SAP Cloud certifications, and knowledge of the SAP Activate methodology, are highly desirable.
