Lead Research Governance and Develop a Culture of Excellence

As a key member of the research team, you will play a vital role in leading and developing excellent performance across our hospitals. This dynamic and challenging opportunity is designed to foster a culture of compassion, connection, and caring for others at the heart of everything we do.

In this senior leadership position, you will ensure that the research community understands and abides by its obligations under various Federal and State legislation. You will build excellent relationships with key external agencies, such as the National Health and Medical Research Council.

  • Manage the secretariat support of the Human Research Ethics Committee
  • Provide advice to individuals involved in research on matters of ethical, legal, and insurance requirements
  • Participate in the provision of research services, including grants, events, education, and research promotion and facilitation
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop, monitor, and manage research governance processes and procedures

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in the medical, biomedical, or life sciences field, extensive experience managing an administrative unit, and substantial management experience in a research institution. They will also possess sound knowledge of Australian law and standards relating to research activity and an understanding of their role in contemporary research policy and practice.
