We are seeking a seasoned professional to assume the role of Information Governance Manager. This position offers a unique opportunity to oversee and implement day-to-day information governance activities, including Subject Access Requests (SARs), the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), application of GDPR, management of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and information sharing agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as administrator for the Ulysses system, monitoring SARs and information governance incidents, and conducting investigations when required.
  • Identify and escalate data breach incidents, managing external reporting where necessary.
  • Lead the development, delivery, and monitoring of information governance training, including cyber security and data protection.
  • Implement effective methods to capture and report on data that supports information governance, enhancing service quality and safety, and achieving key performance indicators.
  • Provide specialist knowledge and advice across all aspects of information governance to patients, service users, members of the public, and colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
  • Manage the identification, assessment, reporting, and management of risk related to all aspects of IG, including regular reporting to the Senior Information Risk Owner/Head of Quality & Safety.
About You
  • Degree qualification or equivalent experience in information governance and data protection.
  • GDPR/data protection qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Significant experience in implementing DPIAs, data processing and sharing agreements within a health or social care organisation.
  • Experience in leading an information governance framework, including handling FOIA requirements, information security, IG statutory compliance, records management, and Caldicott Guardian issues.
  • Experience in data security and protection toolkit requirements and information security management systems (ISMS).
  • Experience in decision-making and prioritising in a health and social care setting.
  • Experience in managing a team.
