Job Title:

Ambitious Scholarly Communication Professional Sought

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced scholarly communication professional to lead our ambitious agenda at Deakin University.

The university has recently launched the Position Statement on Open Research and is implementing recommendations from two years' work in the Open Access and Research Data Management Taskforces.

The successful candidate will oversee a team of 13 high performing staff with a wide range of subject matter expertise, responsible for research support services across the university.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing local plans that align with the university's research strategy
  • Overseeing the design, management, and evaluation of library services related to research support, scholarly communication, bibliometrics, and stewardship of research outputs and data
  • Fostering stakeholder support, generating enthusiasm for change, and creating a safe environment for open dialogue

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience
  • Or project management experience with a good grasp of the volatile scholar communication landscape
  • Demonstrated experience supporting research in a university or similar environment
