Job Opportunity: Fish Ecology Specialist

The role focuses on river and wetland ecology and conservation, encompassing research and data analysis to inform environmental management decisions.

  • This position contributes to the delivery of high-quality research at a leading environmental research institute.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough fish surveys and monitoring programs in rivers and wetlands.
  • Evaluate and report on fish populations and their habitats, using advanced statistical techniques.
  • Collaborate with natural resource managers and other scientists to achieve project goals, fostering effective communication and team collaboration.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary research teams and contribute to scientific articles, conference presentations, and reports, showcasing expertise and research findings.

Requirements:

  • A science degree with relevant work experience in fish ecology, demonstrating a strong foundation in ecological principles and methodologies.
  • A high level of competency in freshwater and estuarine fish identification and survey techniques, as well as data analysis and interpretation.
  • The ability to participate in fieldwork, manage complex datasets, and effectively communicate research findings through written reports and presentations.
