Job Title: Waste and Cleaning Manager

This senior leadership role involves leading the Capital City Waste and Cleaning Management team. The incumbent will work collaboratively with an experienced operations team to achieve key objectives.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring and developing senior members of the team to understand and deliver a contemporary governance service.
  • The leader will foster operational innovation, change, and continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with strategic plans.
  • The position entails undertaking feasibility, planning and budget preparation of waste and cleaning operations and support function improvement projects.
  • The individual will exercise control for the planning, direction, coordination and evaluation of waste and cleaning business objectives.
  • They will track, monitor and report on budgets and supervise expenditure on implemented waste and cleaning projects and programs.
  • The successful candidate will identify and manage risks in the waste and cleaning service.
  • The incumbent will undertake research, liaise with specialists and make recommendations on service development, enhancement, quality and growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in sustainable waste management or relevant discipline, or minimum 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated extensive and diverse leadership and people management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Excellent organisational skills and judgment.
  • A valid 'C' class drivers licence.
  • The ability to obtain a clear National Police Clearance.
