**Role Overview: Disability Support Specialist**

This role requires a genuine passion for assisting individuals living with disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing personal care assistance, bladder and bowel therapy support, manual handling of clients, medication management, respiratory aid, domestic assistance, community access, and social support services.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Personal Care: Deliver daily living assistance to individuals with disabilities.
  • Bladder and Bowel Therapy: Assist with bladder and bowel programs as prescribed by medical professionals.
  • Manual Handling: Safely transfer individuals using equipment such as lifts and bed rails.
  • Medication Management: Administer medications as directed by medical professionals.
  • Respiratory Assistance: Provide oxygen therapy and other respiratory support as needed.
  • Domestic Assistance: Assist with household chores and daily tasks.
  • Community Access: Accompany individuals on outings and provide support in public settings.

**Requirements:**

  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current NDIS Workers Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Current Manual Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Cert 3 in Individual Support or equivalent.
  • Physical capability to provide manual handling support.
