About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Communications Officers. As a Communications Officer, you will play a critical role in providing emergency support to our Troopers and other law enforcement agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer emergency 911 calls and business phone calls
  • Enter and update calls for service into a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system
  • Transmit and receive radio communications from field personnel
  • Provide around-the-clock professional emergency support to the WSP, federal, state, local, and tribal agencies
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Typing speed of 40 wpm
  • Ability to work weekends, days off, holidays, and rotating shifts
  • Ability to respond to visual and sound stimuli with a high degree of accuracy in a timely manner
  • Ability to distinguish colors
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and assist upset, confused, or otherwise distressed customers
Working Conditions

As a Communications Officer, you will be required to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will be expected to multitask and prioritize tasks in a timely manner. You will also be required to work long, extended, or adjusted hours and respond on short notice to work.
