About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Communications Officers. As a Communications Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities by providing timely and effective communication services to law enforcement agencies and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer emergency 911 calls and business phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Enter and update calls for service and self-initiated activity into a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system
  • Transmit and receive radio communications from field personnel
  • Provide critical information to law enforcement agencies and the public in a timely and accurate manner
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Typing speed of 40 wpm
  • Ability to work weekends, days off, holidays, and rotating shifts
  • Ability to respond to visual and sound stimuli with a high degree of accuracy in a timely manner
  • Ability to distinguish colors
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Working Conditions

Communications Officers work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, often under pressure to respond quickly and accurately to emergency situations. They must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with law enforcement agencies and the public.
