Key Responsibilities- Interpret and apply legislation requirements from the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) to provide support with other relevant laws and regulations.
- Provide leadership on broader issues related to data collection, processing, privacy, and artificial intelligence.
- Lead engagement with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and other regulators regarding data breach notifications, privacy complaints, or significant projects.
- Undertake and implement various management activities to ensure compliance with applicable privacy frameworks.
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A degree and/or tertiary qualification in Law, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of in-house experience in AU or a commonwealth jurisdiction (e.g., UK, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore) for candidates with a legal background.
- Experience with implementing privacy management plans, processes, and platforms.
- Candidates without legal qualifications but with significant industry experience in privacy and compliance within energy or regulated industries are encouraged to apply.
