
High Value Claims Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to handle high value and complex claims within our Large Loss Unit.
You will be responsible for ensuring the effective settlement of complex claims by conducting thorough investigations and engaging in negotiations to reach agreed conclusions within established authority levels.
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate. You will also need to demonstrate empathy and adaptability to drive effective outcomes.
As a Senior Claims Technician, you will work closely with our team to deliver excellent customer service while maintaining accurate estimating and controlling indemnity spend.
Key responsibilities include:
- Pro-active management of a portfolio of claims with a potential of £500K+ from notification through to settlement.
- Responsible for either Major Property losses or Catastrophic/Serious personal injury claims (depending on knowledge/experience).
- Delivering excellent customer service whilst maintaining accurate estimating and controlling indemnity spend.
- Lead solicitor/loss adjuster meetings and AXA Large Loss estimating committees.
- Share knowledge and support the development of others in your team and the wider claims community.
- Build excellent working relationships with key stakeholders.
What we're looking for:
- Experience of handling high value and complex commercial property or injury claims, with a settlement authority of at least £500k.
- Knowledge of handling Catastrophic injury claims advantageous.
- Strong prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Educated to A-Level or degree standard or have an equivalent professional qualification (ACII/FCII/CILA).
Requirements:
- Eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
- Subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
