This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Speech Pathologist looking to deliver tailored support services to students with disabilities as a member of the Specialist Disability Support in Schools. The (SDSS) initiative provides comprehensive support to students with disabilities within educational settings.

Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students' speech, language, communication skills, and educational needs.
  • Create and execute personalised therapy plans tailored to address students' specific objectives and challenges.
  • Deliver direct therapy services, both individually and in group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment and support inclusive learning practices.
  • Provide training and support to school staff and parents on strategies to support students' needs.
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust therapy interventions as necessary to ensure continued growth and development.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology (with SPA membership).
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with disabilities, preferably within a school or educational setting.
  • Current driver's license and car required, as travel between locations is necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
