Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced building surveyor to undertake inspections and assessments of building work, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The successful candidate will have excellent technical knowledge and be able to work independently and as part of a small team.
About the RoleThis is a temporary part-time position, working 2-3 days per week, approximately 14-21 hours. The role involves:
- Conducting building inspections to audit compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Assessing and determining or certifying the extent to which applications documents comply with technical building requirements
- Issuing approvals, consents, or building permits as applicable under relevant State and Territory Laws
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Determining compliance with technical building requirements
- Issuing approvals, consents, or building permits
- Auditing compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Verifying ongoing compliance with approval or occupation requirements
- Taking appropriate compliance and enforcement actions as authorized by State or Territory laws
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health and Building, Building Surveying or a related field
- Accreditation with NSW Fair Trading at a registration level of Building Surveying – restricted (class 1 and 10 buildings)
- A Class C Drivers licence
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment
The salary for this position is commensurate with skills and experience, estimated to be around $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on a 2-3 day per week commitment.
