Culturally Safe Family Violence Response Team Leader Role

Are you an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander practitioner or leader seeking a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal women, children, and families?

We are looking for experienced professionals with strong cultural knowledge and a trauma-informed approach to join our team as a response team leader. As a member of our family violence response team, you will be responsible for providing operational leadership, guiding service delivery, and ensuring every response is culturally informed.

About the Opportunity

  • Provide leadership to a small team responding to family violence, embed culturally safe practice, and support your team to walk alongside Aboriginal families with care and respect.

  • Guide service delivery, offer short-term safety planning, and ensure every response is culturally informed and trauma-aware.

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance service delivery, improve outcomes, and promote healing among Aboriginal communities.

What You'll Bring

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

  • Experience in family violence, child and family services, or similar community roles.

  • Deep cultural knowledge, trauma-informed approach, and commitment to healing.

  • Confidence working with multidisciplinary teams and systems.

  • Relevant qualification or equivalent lived/professional experience.
