Overview:

As a key player in the energy sector, you will take charge of the planning and development of connections within the electricity sub-transmission network, ensuring it meets the demands of the evolving energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Spearhead the network planning initiatives for the development of Distribution Renewable Energy Zones (D-REZs) to facilitate the integration of embedded generators, energy storage, and substantial load connections.
  • Network Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of network capabilities, identifying potential limitations and implementing strategies to enhance security, capacity, reliability, and quality of supply.
  • Utilization Maximization: Formulate strategies that optimize the use of the sub-transmission network, focusing on increasing connections for load and generation.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Oversee the compliance of 66kV generators, ensuring adherence to standards and initiating corrective actions as necessary.
  • Investment Planning: Develop comprehensive network investment plans that support regulatory submissions and enhance program delivery for both transmission and sub-transmission networks.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to fellow engineers, fostering a collaborative environment for professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the energy sector, particularly within utility environments.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and experience in electricity network planning.
  • Familiarity with the grid connection process, including generator performance standards and engineering studies.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electricity Rules and their application to network design.
  • Expertise in power quality, system stability, and control mechanisms.
  • Proficient in using electricity network analysis tools and interpreting analytical results.
  • Ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
