Production Supervisor Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced production supervisor to oversee daily operations and support the production manager. The successful candidate will play a key part in coordinating and executing production activities to ensure targets are met, quality standards are upheld, and operational efficiency is maintained.

This hands-on role involves working closely with the production team to ensure the safe and effective operation of mill equipment, helping to ensure the timely processing and delivery of high-quality feed products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, including WHS Management System, Quality Assurance Programme, GMP, and HACCP Food Safety System.
  • Assist and monitor the daily production schedule in line with operational goals and quality standards.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics to ensure efficient operations.
  • Manage staffing levels to meet operational requirements efficiently.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on commodities and finished goods, ensuring compliance with predetermined standards.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the production team and other departments to streamline operations, resolve customer issues and maintain inventory levels effectively.
  • Provide guidance, training and support to the production team, fostering a positive and safe work environment.
  • Handle customer interactions with professionalism.
  • Monitor and report on equipment maintenance needs to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Supervise the receipt of raw materials, ensuring adherence to quality and safety compliance and reporting discrepancies to the Production Manager.
Requirements:
  • Experienced forklift operator with a valid forklift license (highly desirable).
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • HACCP and FeedSafe knowledge highly regarded.
  • Strong commitment to safety and fostering a safety-first culture.
  • Strong communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Sound understanding of quality control principles and processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mill equipment operation/maintenance (an advantage).
