Job Description

The Chief Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of guests while safeguarding the owner's investment.

This position leads the daily operations of the Engineering Team, overseeing maintenance tasks and objectives to maintain the property and hotel operations at peak performance.

The Chief Engineer is responsible for providing a professional advisory and support service to the Director of Engineering to assist in meeting the strategic goals of the Property.

A key aspect of this role is planning and carrying out preventative maintenance throughout the Hotel to ensure standards are maintained for a positive guest experience.

The successful candidate will manage and control the Maintenance Request System and regularly complete analysis on the System regarding frequent guest or Property issues, timeliness of Requests/Jobs and suggest and implement any improvements based on analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualified Engineer (preferred)
  • Proven experience as a Chief Engineer/Facilities Manager or similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems (Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical etc)
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards related to facilities management.
  • Body/Owners Corporation Experience.
  • Strong project Management experience
