Role Overview

We are seeking an organised and efficient individual to join our Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) team. Reporting directly to the DOSA unit manager, the successful applicant will play a pivotal role in supporting the nursing team to ensure an efficient and positive patient experience during their admission to the DOSA unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage incoming and outgoing calls from operating theatre, surgeons' rooms, company representatives, and staff.
  • Greet patients on arrival to DOSA for admission and greet patient's nominated collection person on discharge.
  • Work alongside visiting medical officers, colleagues, patients and visitors to ensure a smooth hospital experience for patients.
  • Order stationary items and distribute as required.
  • Manage staff requests for patient results while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
  • Assist nursing staff in making post-operative appointments for patients.
  • Prepare patient history for medical records post-patient discharge.
  • Work in collaboration with Theatre Bookings Clerk to amend theatre lists as required.
  • Data entry of diet codes into ChefMax.
  • Provide administrative support to the DOSA NUM.
Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have intermediate to advanced proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite with ability to maintain accurate data entry. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment is also essential.

A certificate in Medical Terminology and familiarity with Meditech are desirable qualifications.

Requirements

Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months. According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
