Job Title: Support Professional - Parent Pathways

Part-time opportunity to support parents and carers of young children in achieving their employment, educational, and career goals.

 

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Support Professional. As a key member of our team, you will provide personalized mentorship to parents and carers, helping them navigate their educational and career aspirations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Connecting participants with resources such as childcare, housing, financial aid, and educational resources
  • Providing advice on employment searches, resume and interview preparation, and ensuring compliance requirements and obligations are met
  • Developing tailored action plans addressing unique needs and aspirations of each participant
  • Facilitating workshops and group sessions to provide additional support and foster a sense of community amongst participants
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of appointments and client communication

 

Criteria for Success:

  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching, or providing support services, particularly with working parents, carers, or students
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to connect and build rapport with diverse participants
  • High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office suites and other government programs
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences of participants
  • Familiarity with community resources and services available to parents and carers
  • Ability to interpret various guidelines and work within frameworks
  • Highly motivated to achieving general employment and training outcomes for participants and organizational performance
  • Recent clear National Police Check
  • Current QLD Blue Card
  • Certificate IV or higher in Employment Services and/or Community Services (desirable)
