Container Logistics Manager

Job Description

This is a senior-level logistics management position responsible for leading and optimizing the container fleet operations across Australia. The role involves overseeing all aspects of container logistics and intermodal operations to ensure compliance, cost efficiency, equipment availability, and alignment with global business objectives.

The successful candidate will have experience in managing high-volume container data efficiently, optimising logistics operations across multiple ports, and ensuring timely and compliant execution of container transport and processing of related invoices.

They will also be responsible for streamlining and enhancing container logistics processes to reduce operational costs and improve service efficiency, as well as managing container movement data, sales, repairs, and claims in accordance with Head Office directives.

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Business, International Business, or Supply Chain/Logistics, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and strong problem-solving, planning, and strategic decision-making capabilities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working under pressure in fast-paced environments, with minimal supervision, while managing competing priorities
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across countries and regions
  • Extensive prior experience in container logistics, stock management, and high-volume equipment flows, ideally within the shipping or maritime industry
  • Demonstrated team leadership and supervisory experience in logistics or supply chain operations, with a track record of improving performance and compliance
