We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team. As an Emergency Department Administration Officer, you will provide exceptional customer care to patients and their families.

About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity for experienced individuals who want to make a difference in healthcare. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting all customers with a friendly and professional manner
  • Handling inquiries with poise and diplomacy
  • Answering and redirecting calls with precision
  • Preparing admission paperwork with attention to detail
  • Performing Health Fund Checks as required
  • Managing Emergency Department deposits, Health fund Excess/co-payments, and out of pocket fees with accuracy
  • Coordinating with staff from other departments to ensure seamless operations
  • Maintaining accurate and timely patient information data collection and processing of medical records
  • Providing exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues

Requirements

  • Experience in an acute patient-focused healthcare facility or hospital
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including 7-day rotating rosters
