
Perioperative Theatre Manager

We are seeking a motivated and experienced leader to oversee our main theatres team in a high-volume department. This role involves overseeing 18 operating theatres, specialising in orthopaedics, neurosurgery, cardiac and general surgery.
The successful candidate will have extensive clinical experience in Perioperative Scrub Scout nursing and relevant advanced clinical, decision-making and problem-solving skills. They will be able to demonstrate effective leadership, mentoring and coaching, and be committed to quality improvement and best practice principles.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of patient safety and quality care, and be able to foster a positive service-oriented culture that encourages sound patient care and stewardship. They will also be able to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve shared goals.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the team to deliver high-quality patient care, while also contributing to the strategic objectives of the Directorate. You will be expected to monitor standards of service and practice against benchmark targets, design and implement responses where benchmarks are not met, and participate in the ACHS accreditation process and regulatory assessments.
You will also be required to contribute to the development and implementation of a workforce model and cost-effectively manage human resources. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing payroll and personnel data, managing absenteeism and leave entitlements, and developing and implementing a recruitment, retention and succession plan.
This is a permanent full-time position, working 76 hours a fortnight, with a competitive salary package including salary packaging options and a healthy work-life balance through flexible work options and well-being programs.
