As Perioperative Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading best practice outcomes for key stakeholders, including patients, visiting medical officers (VMO's) and caregivers. A key element of this role is supporting and promoting the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care (SJGHC) from both a customer and a business perspective.

This role's primary focus is on achieving and providing excellence within the perioperative service, including high standards of clinical practice and patient centered care, effective stewardship of resources, commitment to developing individual caregivers and teams and building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

The Position- Build a team focused culture reflecting service excellence by engaging with clear, respectful communication. Seek and value the contribution of caregivers and doctors.- Encourage critical thinking and problem solving.- Communicate effectively with all key stakeholders, utilising appropriate formal and informal channels of communication.- Coordinate and ensure recording of regular department meetings, ensuring all caregivers are well informed and are actively encouraged to participate in departmental and organisational decision making and activities.- Develop and maintain effective networks and relationships with professional groups in order to build proactive and visible partnerships.- Ensure compliance with relevant Acts, Agreements and Policies and Procedures.- Foster a culture of interdisciplinary collaboration to improve patient outcomes.- Support and participate in the Australian Council Healthcare Standards (ACHS) accreditation and WA Private Hospital Licensing processes.- Ensure adherence to the National Safety Quality Healthcare Standards.- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including patients and their families and external partners, including suppliers and VMO's.- Be accountable for the financial management of the perioperative service, within agreed budgetary parameters and performance targets. This includes productivity (labour costs), utilization and supply costs.- Work in collaboration with the DDON (Procedural Services) to review and manage theatre session allocation and utilisation in line with operational and strategic goals- Participate in developing and implementing a recruitment, retention and succession plan to achieve skill mix profile, workforce skill needs and budget targets.- Ensure caregivers within the portfolio have performance development plans, where they are held accountable for meeting expectations and agreed goals that are reviewed at least annually.- Participate in relevant committees and groups, including the Nursing and Midwifery Leadership Team and Leadership Group.- Monitor and ensure compliance with mandatory and regulatory requirements within the perioperative setting- In collaboration with the Senior Human Resources Partner and DDON Procedural Services, implements and ensures compliance with caregiver/industrial relations policies, including managing disciplinary matters and grievances in accordance with group-wide and divisional policies.- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships including suppliers of consumables and equipment to enhance patient care and business outcomes.- Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant internal and external professional groups to build and enhance service delivery on a divisional and SJGHC group-wide basis.

You will have well-developed leadership and communication skills including negotiation, mediation, conflict resolution and problem solving, with the ability to build strong working relationships with clinical teams, medical practitioners and other key stakeholders. You will have the ability to lead, supervise, give direction and delegate to the team.

Experience in setting, monitoring and meeting budgeted financial targets, operational KPI's and benchmarks with knowledge of relevant acts, codes and standards relevant to current practice is essential to the role.

To succeed you will hold current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with significant perioperative experience and the ability to practice and lead at an advanced level. Previous experience in commissioning new theatres and/or implementing new services will be advantageous to the role.
