Leading Senior Mental Health Clinician for Youth Services

Orygen is a leading organization in the field of youth mental health, and we are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our team.
Job OverviewThe Senior Mental Health Clinician will be responsible for providing day-to-day operational management and supervision of a team of Mental Health Clinicians, as well as driving service development initiatives and engaging in community outreach to raise awareness for headspace services.
About the RoleThis is a full-time (0.8-1.0 FTE) ongoing position based in Melton, with access to public transport and amenities that support a healthy work-life balance.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on young people's lives, working in a dynamic and youth-centered environment that values innovation and excellence.
You will lead and inspire a team of clinicians, drive clinical excellence, and provide comprehensive intake, assessment, and consultation services to young people, families, and professionals.
With your expertise in mental health assessments, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and evidence-based treatment, you will help shape service development and community awareness.
What You'll NeedTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing) and full registration with AHPRA or eligibility for registration with AASW;
- Proven experience in leadership, supervision, and mentorship within a multidisciplinary team, guiding clinicians to deliver high-quality care;
- Extensive experience in mental health assessments, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and evidence-based treatment for young people facing mental health or substance use challenges;
- A strong understanding of relevant legislation, government policies, and strategic directions related to mental health, particularly in youth settings;
- Advanced decision-making and risk management skills, with a track record of creatively solving complex problems.
We offer a competitive salary package between $99,157 - $120,576 pro rata commensurate with skills and experience, plus 11.5% super, NFP salary packaging up to $15,900, and a meals and entertainment card.
You will also have access to additional leave, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and a generous Parental Leave Scheme.
