Role Description

The Mining Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of mining engineers to develop and implement safe and efficient mining operations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Develop and supervise mining engineering standards and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
    • Drive strategic initiatives to optimize performance and achieve long-term success.
    • Champion safe work practices and ensure adherence to industry standards.
    • Manage and review effective standards for statutory inspections, communication, and reporting.
    • Engage with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders as required.
    • Cultivate positive relationships within site teams to drive collaboration and efficiency.
    • Ensure detailed planning and scheduling to maximize production.
    • Contribute to strategic growth and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A National Certificate of Competence in Mining Engineering (or equivalent), or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
  • 10+ years of mining experience, with at least 3 years in underground longwall mining.
  • 5+ years in operational management and supervisory roles.
  • Tertiary qualifications in mining engineering or a related discipline (desirable).
  • Valid NSW explosive security clearance (formerly UHL) (desirable).
  • Valid Australian driver's license.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
