Job Description
- Provide personalized support to clients, adhering to their individual needs and NDIS plans.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming, promoting independence and dignity.
- Offer transportation assistance, facilitating access to essential services and appointments.
- Deliver respite care, providing relief to clients and their families, enabling them to recharge and maintain their own well-being.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Effectively communicate with clients, their families, and the care team, fostering strong relationships and trust.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, prioritizing the well-being and safety of clients at all times.
- Pursue ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices and advancements in the NDIS field.
Requirements
- A minimum of high school or equivalent qualification.
- Certificate 2 or 4 in Individual Support or willingness to pursue completion (highly regarded).
- Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disabilities, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
- Availability for day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends, accommodating diverse client schedules.
- A solid understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines, ensuring compliance and effective service delivery.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations, prioritizing client safety and well-being.
- The ability to work with a diverse client base, respecting unique support needs, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
- Basic care and first aid skills, responding effectively in emergency situations.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, enhancing administrative efficiency.
