Job SummaryWe are seeking highly motivated and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team in Logan and Ipswich areas. As a Disability Support Worker at Cocoon Group Services, you will play a vital role in supporting participants with high complex behavior, medical, and physical needs. You will work in Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) settings to help participants achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Provide person-centered support to participants with complex needs, promoting independence, dignity, and respect.
- Assist participants with daily living tasks, including personal care, medication management, and household duties.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans that meet the unique needs and goals of each participant.
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in disability support.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the disability sector, preferably in SIL or SDA settings.
- Demonstrated ability to establish professional relationships with participants, families, and other stakeholders.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility to work a 7-day roster, including overnight shifts and occasional meetings/training.
- Current First Aid, CPR, NDIS Orientation, COVID Infection Control, NDIS Workers Screening, Working with Children Check, and National Police Check.
- Australian driver's license (mandatory).
- A competitive salary range: $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
