Production Operative Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Production Operative to join our production team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who can take on new challenges and work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture products on a 'right first time' basis whilst following company procedures and observing all health and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with regard to operational requirements of the business.
  • Ensure the safety of yourself and others whilst carrying out duties.
  • Carry out housekeeping activities within timescales relevant to each specific area.
  • Maintain expected cleaning and housekeeping standards of all production areas worked in.
  • Work to 5S standards and promote 5S standards to other colleagues.
  • Identify and inform the management team of quality and maintenance issues when they arise.
  • Strive towards continuous improvement in all activities undertaken.
  • Complete production related administration as required.
  • Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.

Requirements:

  • Ability to plan, organise and anticipate demands relating to works tasks, materials, packaging requirements to optimise production line delivery and to optimise efficiencies.
  • Self-sufficient, able to work well on own initiative and proactively solves problems to deliver targets.
  • Good communication skills and is able to follow instructions and keep production line paperwork up to date.
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality/standards.
  • Work in a safe manner and comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate 'right first time' and 5S methodology and standards to drive continuous improvements.
  • Good level of general education.
