About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to oversee our environmental initiatives. Reporting to the National Environmental Manager, you will provide essential technical guidance to our manufacturing facilities across the nation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical support for Waste Water Treatment Plants and develop training materials focused on environmental best practices.
- Implement and manage various corporate sustainability projects throughout national operations.
- Oversee the collection of critical environmental, energy, and sustainability data to meet annual regulatory and corporate reporting standards.
- Assist in formulating the annual environmental Capex strategy and collaborate with sites on environmental projects.
- Adopt a risk-based approach to environmental compliance, conducting regular site risk assessments and maintaining the group risk register.
- Support sites in identifying and escalating environmental risks, including annual reporting for environmental licenses to state and territory authorities.
Candidate Profile:
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with effective environmental management systems and methodologies.
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian environmental legislation and local regulations, including the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERS) and National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) obligations.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and enhancing Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001).
