We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in Australia, driving sales growth across the country. This role focuses on supporting the sales of our B2B software solutions to telecommunication service providers. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in solution architecture and/or enterprise architecture within the telecommunications industry, combined with proven sales experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities with telecommunication service providers across Australia
  • Maintain strong relationships with technical decision-makers and CTOs in target accounts
  • Create compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations showcasing how our solutions address specific client challenges
  • Design complex technical solutions aligning with clients' enterprise architecture and long-term technology strategies
  • Collaborate closely with the product development team to understand client requirements and influence product roadmap
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the sales cycle from initial discovery to solution design and implementation planning
  • Forecast sales pipeline and provide regular updates to senior management including technical win/loss analysis
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive landscape in the telecommunications sector
  • Mentor junior technical sales team members and share knowledge across the organization

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with at least 5 years in a technical pre-sales or solution architecture role
  • Proven track record of designing and selling complex technical solutions to telecommunication service providers in Australia
  • Deep understanding of telecommunications networks, protocols, and emerging technologies (e.g., 5G, NFV/SDN, IoT, ODA)
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies
  • Excellent technical writing skills, with the ability to create detailed solution designs and technical proposals
  • Outstanding communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with major telecom vendors' technologies and integration challenges
  • Familiarity with Australian telecommunications regulations and industry standards
  • Proficiency in technical modeling tools and techniques
  • Ability to travel within Australia (up to 30% of the time)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary Range: AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum
