Job Title: Arboriculture Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Arboriculture Specialist to join our organization. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and experience in arboriculture.

  • Administer Council's Tree Preservation Order (TPO)
  • Undertake administrative tasks
  • Prepare quotation documents and assess contractors for various arboriculture works on public land
  • Provide advice to the public on correct arboriculture practices and tree management
  • Liaise with independent Arborists and consultants as required
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legislation while maintaining a safe working environment
  • Assist the Parks Coordinator with tree management issues and street tree maintenance
  • Represent the organization on external committees as an alternate technical officer
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site assessments and inspections
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for tree management and arboriculture works
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective tree management strategies

Requirements:
  • Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture)
  • Minimum Class C Driver's Licence
  • Expert knowledge in arboriculture, including experience in inspections and report preparation
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards relating to arboriculture, particularly AS4373
  • Ability to issue infringement notices as per Local Government Act and Environmental Planning Assessment Act
  • Experience in MS Office suite
