Job Summary

The Tree Care Specialist will oversee the administration of tree preservation orders and provide expert advice on arboriculture practices to the public.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer council's tree preservation order ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Prepare quotation documents, assess contractors, and manage the completion of arboriculture works on public land.
  • Offer guidance to the public on correct arboriculture practices and tree management.
  • Liaise with independent arborists and consultants as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture) is essential.
  • A Class C Driver's Licence is necessary for the role.
  • Expert knowledge in arboriculture, including experience in conducting inspections and preparing reports, is mandatory.
  • Australian Standards relating to arboriculture (AS4373) must be adhered to.
  • Knowledge and experience issuing infringement notices according to Local Government Act and Environmental Planning Assessment Act are required.
