Enhance lives by joining our Behaviour Support Practitioner team in Darwin. We seek a professional with experience in mental health and teaching, preferably in social work, psychology, counselling or education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design behaviour support plans to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including families, caregivers and allied health professionals, to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Conduct assessments using functional behaviour analysis to inform individualised support plans.
  • Implement strategies and interventions focused on holistic wellbeing and strengths.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant legislation, policies and ethical guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Hold an NDIS worker screening check, Australian driver's license, first aid certificate, OCHRE card and current Criminal History check within three months.
  • Demonstrate experience working with individuals across the lifespan (children and adults) with disabilities and complex behaviours.
  • Be passionate about helping people grow to achieve their full potential.
  • Ability to work with clients exhibiting challenging behaviours.
  • Effective stress management strategies are essential.
  • Flexible thinking and adaptability are required.
  • Autonomy and teamwork skills are necessary.
  • Solution-focused approach is ideal.
  • Experience in writing reports and understanding causes/triggers behind behaviours is valuable.
  • Background in psychology, mental health studies, counselling, clinical social work or teaching is advantageous.

Regular remote travel is involved as we deliver services throughout the Northern Territory.
