Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Accessible Information Writer to join our team. As an Accessible Information Writer, you will play a vital role in creating meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities to belong and thrive.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, including translating complex written information into Easy English and plain language, in line with our best-practice standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate complex written information into Easy English and plain language
  • Conduct consumer testing sessions with people with low literacy and provide support as required
  • Provide information, advice, and consultancy to internal and external customers
  • Direct appropriate image selection for Easy English documents

Requirements:

  • Strong advocate for the rights of people with low literacy, including those with intellectual disability
  • Tertiary qualifications in writing, editing, or another relevant communications field
  • Demonstrated experience in the production of quality communications that meet the needs of identified audiences
  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, and interpersonal skills
