About the Opportunity:
This is a permanent part-time role (3 days a week, 0.6 FTE) within the Bolton Clarke Research Institute, where the Library Services Manager plays a pivotal role in facilitating research that promotes independence, quality of life, and informed healthcare choices for our clients and the broader community. The position is based at the Melbourne Corporate Support Office, where the Library Services Manager will ensure staff have seamless access to a comprehensive digital library service via the corporate intranet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and responsive information services to staff and stakeholders, including conducting specialized literature searches.
- Manage library subscription renewals, vendor negotiations, and oversee contracts and agreements.
- Develop and maintain the e-library platform.
- Ensure compliance with Copyright legislation while providing an efficient document delivery service.
- Facilitate 24/7 access to electronic content for staff.
- Oversee library budget and expenditures.
- Deliver customized presentations and training sessions to enhance staff proficiency in utilizing library resources and conducting research.
- Maintain and oversee the digital artifacts of the corporate history collection.
- Provide alerts and updates to the Research Institute and other departments as needed.
- Engage with staff to assess their needs and promote library services throughout the organization.
- Select and acquire new electronic library materials in collaboration with the Head of Research, and manage the cataloging and de-selection of print materials.
- Administer and maintain the Library Management System (DBTextworks).

- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities, with the initiative to work independently.
- A collaborative approach, capable of thriving in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience in library management, ideally within a clinical or healthcare context.
- Expertise in conducting systematic and critical reviews of research literature, along with a solid understanding of health literature resources and systems.
- Proficiency in health research methodologies and relevant software (e.g., EndNote, Covidence).
- Experience in designing and delivering library training programs and presentations, both online and in-person.
