Located at our Melbourne Corporate Support Office, the Library Services Manager will ensure that staff have access to a quality digital library service via the corporate intranet.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Responsive Information Services: Provide expert literature searches, conduct research, and deliver high-quality information services to staff and other stakeholders.
- Library Management: Oversee library subscription renewals, manage vendor negotiations, and handle contracts/agreements.
- E-Library Development: Develop and maintain the e-library site, ensuring 24/7 staff access to electronic content.
- Document Delivery: Provide an efficient document delivery service in compliance with Copyright legislation.
- Library Expenditure: Manage library expenditure, ensuring effective use of resources.
- Training and Support: Offer tailored presentations and training to support staff in using library resources and conducting research.
- Digital Artefacts: Oversee and maintain digital artefacts of the corporate history collection.
- Alerts Service: Provide an alerts service to the Research Institute and other departments as requested.
- Staff Engagement: Engage with staff to identify their needs and promote the library service across the organization.
- Collection Management: Select and acquire new electronic library materials, in consultation with the Head of Research, and manage the cataloguing and de-selection of the print collection.
- Library Management System: Manage and maintain the Library Management System (DBTextworks).
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, written, and verbal skills to work effectively with staff and stakeholders.
- Planning and Organizational Skills: Strong planning, organizational skills, and initiative to work effectively without direct supervision.
- Collaborative Team Orientation: Collaborative team orientation with the ability to work across a multidisciplinary environment.
- Library Management Experience: Library management experience, preferably in a clinical or healthcare setting.
- Health Literature Expertise: Expertise in conducting systematic and critical reviews of research literature, and strong knowledge of health literature resources and systems.
- Health Research Methods: Proficiency in health research methods and associated software (e.g., EndNote, Covidence).
- Training and Development: Experience in developing and delivering library training programs and presentations, both virtual and face-to-face.
