About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Wellness Coordinator to join our team at DRD Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective injury management and return-to-work strategies to minimize downtime and promote employee recovery.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into workplace incidents and injuries, providing expert advice on corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Review and update policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Deliver engaging and informative safety training sessions to employees, including toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Perform regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and implement controls.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety data sheets and training records.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training on workplace health and safety strategies and activities.
  • Organize and facilitate safety training sessions, including manual handling, fire training, spill training, and emergency drills.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive training matrix to ensure employees receive regular safety training.
  • Provide mental health support and referrals to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or safety-related field.
  • Registration with a national board for a relevant nursing board.
  • BLS certification; ACLS/ATLS certification would be advantageous.
