Regional Oceanography Data Scientist

This role presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the advancement of regional oceanography research as a postdoctoral fellow in a dynamic group of researchers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the NSW-IMOS oceanographic moorings sub-facility and developing oceanographic data products, including climatologies, statistics, and trends. The role also involves data processing, quality control, data dissemination, and real-time display.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A PhD or equivalent experience in physical oceanography or a related field.
- Expertise in analysing and critically assessing oceanographic data, including QA/QC.
- Proficiency in working with and organising large geophysical datasets.
- Excellent programming skills, including proficiency in Matlab or Python, and NetCDF; and experience working in a Linux environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
