Safety Leadership Specialist

This Senior Safety Advisor position offers a unique opportunity to drive safety leadership and culture within a leading sustainable building materials company.
Located at either Dandenong or Coburg, VIC, this role will involve creating and implementing new safety systems, building on existing ones, and contributing to strategic plan initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:- Facilitate and model a safety leadership style that prioritizes health and safety, aligning with our goal of zeroHarm.
- Maintain a working knowledge of relevant safety and health legislation, trends, and new initiatives impacting the business.
- Undertake site audits against Holcim Australia safety systems and other standards, monitoring and measuring corrective actions from risk assessments, investigations, and audits.
- Identify opportunities to simplify safety systems without compromising our zeroHarm goal.
- Assist line management in incident investigations, including determination and tracking of corrective measures.
- A relevant qualification and/or commensurate experience, with willingness to gain qualifications if needed.
- Prior experience in a safety leadership role within high-risk environments, such as quarrying, mining, oil & gas, heavy industrial manufacturing, or related sectors.
- Relevant experience in conducting safety inspections, audits, leading incident investigations, and reporting safety matters.
- Current knowledge of OH&S legislation and practices.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety record keeping systems.
- Demonstrated ability to drive and promote a zero-harm culture, work in a team environment, and communicate effectively at all levels.
