TIG Welder Job Description
Are you a skilled welder looking for a challenging role in a fast-paced environment?
We are seeking a TIG welder to join our team and play a crucial part in building the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles.

About the Role
This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and excellent problem-solving skills. You will be working with an elite team of fabricators and technicians to build the primary airframe of the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles. Your responsibilities will include GTAW class A welds, cutting, trimming, fitting, and fabricating metal components to dimensions for building and assembling. You will also collaborate with lead welders to ensure that the proper weld procedure, type of material, and rod size are accurately assessed for each welding project.

Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality GTAW class A welds.
  • Cut, trim, fit, and fabricate metal components to dimensions.
  • Collaborate with lead welders to ensure accurate weld procedures.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience with TIG welding.
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8 hours minimum).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs) unassisted.
  • Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings, and climbing hand over hand.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights (up to 200 feet) and in confined spaces.
  • Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments - heat, cold, rain.
  • Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.
