Are you looking for a challenging role where you can utilize your metal fabrication skills? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Welder to join our team in Cardup. As a Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal products using various welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements and plan your tasks accordingly.
  • Select, clean, and prepare metal stock and materials for fabrication, ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Cut marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal cutting machines, always maintaining safety protocols.
  • Shape and bend metal components and pipes using hand tools, machinery, heating, and hammering techniques, achieving the desired shape and precision.
  • Align parts to be joined using appropriate hand tools and measuring instruments, guaranteeing accurate assembly.
  • Join metal sections through welding (MIG, TIG, Arc), bolting, and riveting methods, ensuring strong and durable connections.
  • Examine completed welds for bead width, penetration, and overall precision, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Finish and clean welded products to meet quality and safety standards, presenting a professional finish.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area, adhering to all WHS policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar workshop or field-based role, showcasing your expertise in metal fabrication.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques and metal fabrication, including MIG, TIG, and Arc welding.
  • Ability to interpret and work from detailed technical drawings, demonstrating your understanding of blueprints and specifications.
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices and quality standards, upholding our company's values.
  • Australian Driver's Licence (mandatory), ensuring you can travel safely and efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills, enabling you to tackle challenges and meet deadlines.
