About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team as a Recovery Team Leader. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the nursing team in planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based, person-centred care.
  • Collaborate with the perioperative management team to provide strategic leadership, supervision, and oversight.
  • Demonstrate professional practice by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements, and Healthscope's policies and processes.
  • Foster a learning environment through clinical presentations to support the nursing team with their professional development and maintaining own professional learning and continuous professional development.
  • Provide supervision and teaching to peers, ENs, graduates, and students.
  • Act as a valued member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care by actively contributing to team processes and practices.
  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure patients receive high-quality care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset to enable high-quality patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Recovery RN.
  • Prior experience as a CNS, acting NUM, or in charge in PACU will be highly regarded.
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards).
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
  • Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and work within a team environment.
  • Passion for teaching, educating, and up-skilling staff in cardiac operating theatres.
