About the Role:

This Compliance Officer will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and review of the Technical Services Health and Safety Strategy as part of broader requirements.

  • Key responsibilities include contributing to the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety plans, procedures, systems, and processes that support business outcomes.
  • Supporting the development, coordination, and implementation of auditing schedules to facilitate continual improvement of the HSEMS.
  • Assisting in the development of statistical reports on the performance of the HSEMS and associated projects to facilitate management review and continual improvement.
  • Understanding and incorporating project and operational risk assessment processes into management plans, facilitating workshops to characterise relevant risks and controls.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of health and safety programs that support management and staff in meeting legislative compliance and strategic objectives.
  • Assisting in the review of training needs analysis for the Business Unit, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to influence and contribute to strategies for the work health and safety agenda.
  • Providing support to ensure the Technical Services HSEMS is developed in compliance with relevant legislation where required.

About You:

  • A relevant Cert IV/diploma/degree in WHS or OHS is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in training and assessment is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of WHS legislation and its application.
  • Experience in a similar safety/training role, with a focus on systems/risk management and processes.
  • Government experience is highly regarded but not required.
